For sale is a 1971 914. This car has been documented here on 914World but here’s a recap of everything about the car.
Here is the build thread: Build Thread Here is some additional photos of the car: PICTURES It has approximately 300 miles on it since getting it back on the road after extensive work. It was last on the road in 1991. It is currently a functioning, road legal car that is driven several times a week weather permitting. A lot of work has been completed on this car but there is plenty more to be done. I planned to keep driving it while I completed the remaining work on it but I am losing interest so it is time to move on. The car has been kept stock with very few changes. Chassis The chassis started out in decent shape for an east coast car and I stripped it down and repaired all major rust. Whenever possible I used aftermarket repair panels instead of patches. After repairs were completed, I epoxy primed and painted under the floor, the interior, and the engine/transmission bay. I added undercoat to the bottom of the floor before the color-coat was added. Longitudinals were also treated. Stock jack can be used with no issue. There are a few non-structural areas that still need some rust repair/attention as seen in the pictures. Exterior will need bodywork completed. A few exterior weld seams will need finished. Areas that still need paint: Trunks, Wheel wells, exterior. Drivetrain The motor is a stock 1.7L. It just had its first oil change since being rebuilt. The motor was completely broken down, inspected, and rebuilt. Heads were rebuilt, new oil cooler, rebuilt alternator, yellow zinc plated pushrod tubes, new hardware used and oil galley passages were tapped and plugged. All engine tin was media blasted and repainted with a 2-part satin black paint. It has the original D-Jet fuel injection on it. Everything was tested and gone through. Injectors were serviced, all new vacuum hoses, etc. It runs great. Heat system is installed on the motor with all painted ducting and new flapper boxes. It has stainless steel heat exchangers in great shape. The flywheel on the motor is a lightened unit. New clutch disk, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, and new clutch fork bushings. The transmission has not been rebuilt but it was thoroughly cleaned and all seals replaced. All new shift bushings. All cables were replaced (accel, clutch, speedo, heat). New motor/tranny mounts. The motor still needs a few small things such as a new intake boot and AAR valve but otherwise very little needs to be done to the drivetrain. Wheels/Brakes/Steering New Turbo Tie rods New 19mm ATE Master Cylinder Rebuilt Pedal Cluster New flexible lines PMB Restored Calipers Porterfield RS4 Pads New Rotors New wheels bearings-Front New Wheels New Tires 165/85/15 Tires The suspension is still in original condition. I do know that one of the rear wheel bearing has a slight rumble to it and will need to be replaced eventually. Interior Most of the interior is original. Seats and backpad are in good shape. New carpet kit installed. New insulation has been installed on the back wall. Custom sound deadening mats. New vinyl floor trim. Door panels will need repair. Dash has cracks. Windshield is crack-free. Odometer currently doesn’t work. The rear window is the rare optional heated window. Misc I will include most the parts that are not currently installed on the car. Some trim, etc. I know the car is currently missing one sun visor. Outer rocker panels not included. E-Brake is not currently hooked up. Asking price |

That is a screaming deal for a car that is almost entirely rebuilt! Which this would have come up for sale 3 months ago!

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_bump.gif) New Price!
$5600 Firm I will also consider a partial trade for another 914 project or trade for a VW bay window Westy. -I have over 7K in parts alone on this car and that doesn't include all the work that went into getting it to the condition it is now. -I've been driving the car a bit more and have noticed two things: the car runs a tad lean so it will need some more fine tuning. There is also a shimmy in the front end at 60 mph that goes away with a change of speed. |

Has this not sold yet? I would think someone with the ability to finish the body work and paint or wrap it would be all over this. Or just get the fine tuning done and drive it. Hmmm... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)
