I'm looking for find a new home for my '73 914 2.0. The mechanical restoration is finished and the solid body is ready for a restoration or not as the new owner sees fit. Basically this 914 is a high mileage car (~185K miles) that spent most of its driving life in Santa Barbara California and I have all records from the second owner back to 1977. I'm the third owner and asking $18,000.00 or best offer for the car. I'd love to see it go to a fellow 914World member so I'm advertising it here first.

Particulars:

Exterior - Saturn Yellow although the car was repainted before the second owner purchased the car. Paint in good shape considering its age and mileage. A previous owner installed a rear spoiler on the car and drilled mounting holes across the back. An original unblemished rear trunk lid comes with the car.

Interior - Black interior is also in very good original shape although the dash is cracked in the typical places. An excellent original dash comes with the car. Door speakers were installed back in the day along with an Alpine cassette deck and graphic EQ. A good original Sapphire radio comes with the car. The original leather steering wheel is sun damaged along the upper rim so a plastic wheel is currently installed. The original wheel comes with the car.

Drivetrain - The original engine was rebuilt by Original Customs to 2056 with a factory D-Jet cam with 500 break-in miles. All new harnesses from Jeff Bowlsby running a complete 1974 EFI setup. The original 1973 items come with the car. Transaxle refreshed by Dr. Evil himself also with break-in miles. New clutch. Working Aux Air Valve, Cold Start Valve, Decel valve are not installed but come with the car. Manifold Pressure Sensor inspected by Chris Foley at Tangerine Racing and made fully adjustable. Although the heat exchangers look stainless steel, they are factory thermal coated units. All other engine and heater tins are powder coated.

Other systems - The fuel, suspension and braking systems were also restored from top to bottom with the help of many 914World vendors and suppliers. New fuel pump was relocated to the front factory location using all factory mounting components.

In short the car runs, shifts and handles as a nicely restored 914 should. The final sorting and checkout of the car took place at Tangerine Racing last month and Chris Foley said he'd be happy to reply to any prospective buyers regarding the condition of the car.
