We visited Qarl this week and I was allowed into the super secret 914 project room to see the 914/6 conversion project. It's been what 10 years (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) since he started but I think he will actually get the car fixed and repainted soon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) I also got to look in the parts stash room where all the goodies are, wow what a hoard of nos and awesome parts. I'd love to help assemble this car when he gets the paint issues sorted out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Its crazy how this was the high budget build of the day and back in the day and the amazing parts he bought for it. The value of those parts must have trippled while sitting!

How was Hunter doing? Was he still driving the lotus around?

I am glad to see that car revisited. It was going along so nicely and then it just disappeared, (I could make a comment here, but won't). I was unaware of the paint issues. What happened?

I had read his build thread at one time and remember that he was so disappointed with the paint job, he stopped working on the car and time moved on. He was going to start up again a year or two ago but it didn't happen.

Go Qarl - (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Blast from the past. I've reached out to him every time we go to Disney World, just bad timing so I've never been able to visit him (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I don't remember the paint issue or just might have been around the time I was gone from here. That sucks, glad he is going to get back to it.

Does he still have the Lotus?

Ok, Hunter turned 17 yrs old! He is doing fine.

The 914 has lots of little "issues" that were supposed to be fixed before being painted and they just painted it over the issues. Karl is going to find a shop to redo the work and then paint it properly soon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Got to ride around in the Lotus that's been modifed to 350hp so it's crazy fast and loud. What a fun car but with all those crazy Florida drivers its scary on the road. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Mike, you just have to call ahead to see Karl as he is pretty busy with his business and Hunter's appointments. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chair.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chair.gif)

I hate to be the one to break this sad news, Hunter passed away just after his 18th birthday some months ago, Karl and Susan have been struggling with the loss of their boy. They moved into a new home and have been traveling a bit, have a new German Shepard and are trying to adjust. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
