Price reduce:
FS: 914 Type 1V 2.4 Ltr engine complete “plug and play”, from twin Weber 44 carburetors to flywheel, plus performance headers with “street” stainless steel muffler and tail pipe. $5,750, buyer arranges/pays for pick up and transportation

Engine was 1.7Ltr, recently expanded to 2.366 Ltr, estimated 140 to 150 HP. Engine starts quickly and runs very well with lots of torque as it should, and is great fun to drive. No oil drips on the garage floor. Primary build statistics include: 103 mm bore, 71mm stroke, with new pistons and cylinders, reconditioned crank shaft, 2.0 Ltr reconditioned rods, all new bearings, solid camshaft suitable for carbs (C25/C35 grind) with solid lifters, valve job with mild porting with new valves and sleeves and "elephant foot" rockers, machined case and heads for 103 mm cylinders. Machine work done by European Motorworks. Many other improvements including: new vacuum retard distributor (carb compatible) with electronic spark module and compatible new coil, reconditioned alternator with higher amp capacity, an under the rear trunk external oil cooler radiator with thermostat controlled 12” cooling fan in series with a large external oil filter, a high volume oil pump with a Tangerine oil pressure relief valve, all of which sustains good oil pressure. After careful run-in for the first 1000 miles, the engine now has 2000 miles on it.

Engine is in the car for a few more weeks until replaced with a 911 six engine. Buyers welcome to come and test drive the car before this engine is removed. (S.Cal.).

Congrats Keith. I am going to hand off an engine yoke to for you give Mark when he is down picking up his mill.

Now you and larmo and coondog all have a 914 with an empty engine bay...... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif)

I wonder who will be the first to hear the roar of a 911 mill between the three of you guys.... Of course Coondog has pms.... as his destiny is in the hands of PMS! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif)

Also: the logo / you might try European Motorworks in (maybe) harbor city / George is the owner/builder and he is very well respected on type 4 builds to any reasonable specification / just an fyi.

He knows Keith and I from machine work and parts sales but his engines are very well regarded.

So this engine is back on the market

And im going for it but just curious,

Will it be suitable for daily driving or is this more of a race motor
I really only drive the car on the weekends ,car shows etc

But was just curious about what to expect.

And since its 103mm does that mean reliablity and or longevity
Is comprised ?

Curious about the " new pistons an cyclinder "
What pistons an cyclindes are they ?

Im sure its a blast to drive and thats what i want most
But thought id just ask around about what to expect. ...

There are quite a few 914s with empty engine bays here.

Fun and frustrating. I'm waiting on my welder to weld in the front oil cooler shroud and bottom vented panel.
