This event looks so fun, I want to drive out from SoCal next year.

Are surfers welcome?

Doing the best that I can to get the car done so I can make it this year with my own car. There is a lot left to do but we're making lots of progress.

That would be an amazing accomplishment! I have a bit of I think i can to do as well. We are cheering for you!

I just have to get out of Korea and get back to my 914 to do slightly less work!

Had to go out of the country for a bit. Just now getting back to posting some more information.

As a second year sponsor RIX 914 Parts is providing some very fine items. First, a really well made firewall mat and sound reduction mat. This was an item he Richard provided last year and it was really nice!

Attached ImageAttached Image

Richard is also going to provide some of his truly awesome polycarbonate rain hats for 6 carbs! Pretty nice bit of kit! Attached Image

Rich says he will have a few other goodies as well!

Would also like to welcome a new vendor. Griot's Garage started out much like this event, just an odd idea that caught on after awhile.Attached Image

Kimberly of their Club Assistance Program is sending 2 wonderful car care kits.

One will be taken home by a winner, the other will be at your disposal for use in cleaning up your car before the car show.

You can try the following products and see how they work! All of the following products are ideal for quick clean options!

Speed Shine - Simply mist it on, gently wipe dry, and buff.
l
Interior Cleaner - Quickly and safely clean all interior surfaces and materials from headliner to carpet with minimal fuss.

Spray on Wax - Spray-On Wax base wax enhancer that extends the life of your natural waxes and paint sealants

Wheel Cleaner - highly-concentrated formula clings, penetrates, and loosens brake dust, grit, and road grime.

With the drive Bob has picked this could be very useful!

There are few things in the automobile world that translate universally. But there are certain people who create works of are that are beyond words. I took many pictures of Tim Kinney's gauges that have become such a marque item for this event and frankly all of them completely failed to capture the work this guy does.

But if you come to Okteenerfest you will have the chance to take home a true work of art!Attached Image

Well I hope everyone is not getting too tired of me posting goodies?

Ron and Tucker from AASE Sales came up with a few goody bags that are out of this world!
Attached Image
Look at some of the parts below and you will understand that AASE has the parts to support all your 914 parts needs. Also whenever I have a interesting part for other cars, AASE has me covered. If I need a part for the Boxster, a quick call to Tucker usually resolves the issue very quickly.

Just take a look at the items in these bags! That tool bag is exceptionally nice and gift certificates can certainly make your day! The other items can certainly put some finishing touches on your 914. Taking home any of these will make attending the event very worth while!

Bag #1:
-Set of four floor mats
-$100.00 gift certificate
-Left and right parking brake cables
-Heater cable
-914/6 clutch cable
-2 NOS ATE brake pad kits
-Exclusive/rare PORSCHE poster
-Smooth vinyl tool bag
-914 timing decal
-914 owner’s manual

Bag #2:
-Set of four floor mats
-$75.00 gift certificate
-Heater cable
-914/6 clutch cable
-2 NOS ATE brake pad kits
-914 timing decal

Bag #3:
-Set of four floor mats
-$75.00 gift certificate
-Heater cable
-914/6 clutch cable
-2 NOS ATE brake pad kits
-914 timing decal

I get to communicate with some interesting people when I reach out to vendors trying to get support for this event. One of the most interesting this year is a company in Germany FERTAN. They make some pretty impressive rust treatments.

So I was thinking all 914s have rust, German company making rust treatment equals a perfect match! Super long shot but I reached out to them.

Not quite sure how all of this will work out but they have agreed to help us out! Seriously we are receiving support all the way from Germany! I have been speaking with Björn Lang, Managing Director / General Manager of FERTAN in Germany.

Somehow with the help of Goggle Translate it seems like they will be a sponsor.
Kind of says a lot about this event and the 914!

The car is getting closer to being ready for the trip. (I don't want to jinx anything) what would you like to see from 914Rubber as give a ways at the event?

I believe my son will be coming with me this year so I need to register him as my "2nd".

Sent an PM to Bob and Nadine since it wasn't clear how to add him to my registration.

OKTEENERFEST 2017: Oktoberfest
September 14-17 in the Alpine village of Helen, GA!

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED!!!

This year we travel to the Alpine village of Helen, GA during the town's 47th annual Oktoberfest celebrations! While we experience traditional Bavarian festivities and cuisine from oompah bands and lederhosen to hot pretzels and German bier, our Porsche 914s will feel as though they have traveled back to their homeland! So mark your calendars and be sure to join other 914 owners for some fantastic driving, plenty of socializing, a bit of showing off, and a truckload of give-aways in a unique setting that you won't want to miss.

Join the Okteenerfest mailing list or LIKE us on Facebook for quickest access to information as it becomes available.

In addition to the driving, Okteenerfest features plenty of good eating, an awards ceremony, tons of give-aways from the most awesome vendors, a Peoples Choice Car Show, and some of the nicest people you will ever meet gathered in a single place.

Registration includes:

· Thursday evening snack/beverages
· Friday driving tour
· Friday lunch at Jake Raby’s shop
· Saturday entry to Peoples Choice Car Show
· Saturday evening awards banquet dinner
· Chance to win some great trophies
· Tickets for a chance to win some AWESOME door prizes
· Event T-Shirt
· Lifetime of memories, meeting new friends, and a chance to bond with your 914

The Helendorf River Inn is our host hotel (33 Munich Strasse, Helen, GA 30545 Phone: (800) 445-2271)
We have reserved a block of 25 Standard Rooms, 22 Riverfront Balcony Rooms and 8 Patio Rooms for our group for the nights of September 14, 15 and 16, 2017. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yellowsleep[1].gif)
You MUST mention you are with either Okteenerfest or the 914 club
  • Standard Rooms that do not overlook the river and involve stairs will be $114.00 per night plus tax.
  • Riverfront Balcony Rooms with elevator accessibility will be $139.00 per night plus tax.
  • Patio Level Rooms will be $149.00 per night plus tax.
  • The Helendorf requires one night's lodging as a deposit at the time reservations are made.
  • Cancellation period would be 10 days prior to arrival in order for the deposit to be fully refundable.
The rates are a bit higher than we are used to but Okteenerfest is being held during the town's annual Oktoberfest celebration and these rates are a substantial discount over their normal rates.
The venue and festive atmosphere should more than make up for the extra cost! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_flagge6.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chowtime.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer3.gif)
