Just getting into the first tune-up for my '71 1.7. Am finding electrical plugs not pluged into anything and vac lines that are pluged. The way it is looking, would not susprise me to find elect lines pluged into vac lines (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) Where can I find the best diagrams of the engine wiring and engine vac lines? Got to get it back to normal (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

Note that on that diagram the oil breather line is erroneously connected to the air cleaner, it should connect to the plenum.

Also, the decel valve is not shown on that diagram. It is sugggested by some that it would run better without it.

not true ...

the early 1.7 did not have a PCV valve in the oil-filler.
in which case the line *does* go to the air-filter.
if you connect it to the throttle body, you're in for a "noisy" surprise ...

Okay, here is one of the plugs. It is at the rear of the engine compartment under the air cleaner assembly.

and here is a pluged vac line. Coming off the vac advance on the distributor.

Looks like that should plug into the temp 1 sensor.

What type of plug should be on that sensor? It appears to be a solid piece of plastic and I do not see a way for the elect plug to connect onto it.
