When going from the 914 to late 911 Carrera axles with the 108mm CV's, how much shorter are they than the 914's? One friend told me they are .800" shorter per side.....can anyone verify the exact difference per side? I will be making some drive flange adapters (for my 6 speed), so I can use this difference for them.

Andy when I made the adapters for my late 911 Carrera axles to 901 transaxle flange I made them .5" thick.
I'll measure the free axle length the next time I take my transaxle out.
I did these 3 yrs ago so I can't recall the exact axle length but I'm sure I made them for the axle to be at the free length with the suspension at mid travel.
