What are the best street and some Autocross tires for 17" wheels? 225x45x17 and 245x40x17?
I have Michelin Pilot Super Sports on the car now. They are ten years old and feel kind of hard. No cracks in the sidewalls yet...
I'm leaning towards these same tires again. Costco also has a $70.00 off coupon if you buy four.

It looks like Costco only carry's 215x45x17 for Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Not that big of a deal...

How sticky do you want them?

Federal JUST came out with their sticky 100tw semi competition tire for the states. I am using their 200tw tire on the back of my 914 and they are just getting pretty sticky, I think they are perfect for the streets.

Pricing for reference.
595RSRR (200tw)
215/45ZR17 - $391.00 shipped (Set of 4)
235/40ZR17 - $407.00 shipped (set of 4)

Or you could go with any of the autox street tires... Bridgestone RE-71R is the king of the streets right now. I can give you a full list if you want.

Thanks for the response. Something similar in stickiness as my Pilot super sports, since most my driving is street.

For mostly street driving PSS's are pretty nice tires. Great grip, Good longevity, Great rain traction...

Sure they are expensive, but you get a lot of life out of the tire.

If you want cheaper I would consider the Federal 595RSRR's. I can put you in contact with my distributor. They will be your biggest bang for the buck for a street tire, but I dont think they would last more than 20k miles.

Those are amazing prices. Can you post some 15"s when you get a chance and a pic of the tread. Thanks.

They make a 300tw pure street tire but I dont have those numbers as my distributor is track focused. You can find them on ebay though.
