FS: 1972 Porsche 914 1.7L L-Jet $2250 with title!!!

This is a great looking car (pictures to be posted tonight) I got from Brad Mayor in Indiana in 2015 I believe. My plan was to restore it, but due to recent plans to move to a smaller house I need to get rid of it. I don't have a lot of wiggle room in the price but I could drop a little if you pick it up soon!!!

I originally got it without the following:

Wheels and Tires,
Fuel Pump,
Bumpers,
Rocker Trim piece,
Door handles,
Compression on all 4 cylinders
brakes
Intake & Injection system
Battery
other small bits and pieces

I added:

Everything above except brakes.

I've gathered rebuild kits for the calipers I was going to use, but I don't have time for it before we move.

Old Compression:
#1: 150lbs
#2: 114lbs
#3: 156lbs
#4: 130lbs

After valve adjustment on 2 & 4

#1: 150lbs
#2: 145lbs
#3: 156lbs
#4: 140lbs

Not perfect but way better than 114lbs. Valve was too tight.

Electrically speaking the car seems to be in good shape lights work and engine cranks & runs minus 1 small flaw.

Small flaw:

There's no hole for my head temp sensor for the 1.8L L-jet. I'm not sure if 1.7L didn't have this hole or not, but I guess I overlooked that detail before I put in the fuel injection. The car will run when the sensor is grounded but I wouldn't recommend driving it until the sensor is installed correctly.

There has been some welding done on the car before I got it, but it looks to be in good shape and could easily be brought up to a road worthy car.

I need this gone soon, Cash only! Title in hand.

Thanks

Sorry this was listed as a 71 but after checking the title realized it was a 72. Updated listing and dropped price.

After further investigation, I found that yes the heads are on backwards.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

You can see the cht sensor hole in the driver side just behind the #2 cylinder sparkplug. (through the sparkplug hole in the tin.)

Price dropped! I need it gone $2250 OBO

Since the posting I removed the driver side engine tin inserted the CHT sensor and put it back together. There's a lead wire running from the sensor into the engine wire harness.

I also put the fuse panel back under the dash, installed driver side seat rail and seats,
And connected the accelerator cable!

Make me an offer if you're interested!

Thanks.
