Car was running great until I decided to install the crane 700. Details are; 2.0 w/ 96mm flat tops, mild cam,H D springs, stock F.I.,MSD 6A. It was running quite good w/ points, small stumble at 5600 rpm`s. Now at lower rpm`s it really sputters but at 2800 it really kicks in but still sputters at about 5600 unless I ease into it; right up to 6000 (may put in the 7000 chip) I`m wondering about (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif) that spider web of hoses.I did double check the timing(stock setting) any ideas?

not a whole lot of info to go on there.... swap back in the points and see if the problems go way... if installed correctly, however, it's hard to imagine the xr700 doing anything like that, so i think your problem is elsewhere.

start w/ ignition.... move to fuel..... classic troubleshooting...

It was a broken wire at the head temp switch. It`s running better than ever now . Going to look for some curves now , see ya. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif)
