Hi everyone! So I started an account here to help my father rebuild his '75 914 1.8. Basically I am working on this car as a summer project in the weekends and maybe a weekday here and there if I have the time. This 914 has been garage kept for 20 years (1997) and as a 20 year anniversary it would be nice to resurrect this little guy. Yeah that is where I got my info. from (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap.gif) Anyone know about charcoal canisters? Can someone check my spark plug wire order? I think #1 and #2 are wrong. |

Charcoal canister is ok even without it. Does not affect the engine. It is just to lessen or remove fuel smell. That plastic (expansion tank) on top of your tank has a small diameter hose that connects to the charcoal canister (for 1975 it is at the engine bay). two larger rubber hose In and out of charcoal canister. In side goes go upper right of fan shroud (blows air going to charcoal canister and other side (out) goes to air filter. 2. Your engine picture with your number markings is correct. Assuming your TDC (#1) is in the right position. |
