I need to know where the black with blue dots wire goes in the center counsel.
It's a wire that's coming up out of the tunnel area. I don't seem to have a place for it to connect to. It has a small female spade connector. |

Don't know if you've seen them already but Bowlsby's site has a few diagrams regarding electrical for the center console that might be helpful as well.
http://bowlsby.net/914/Classic/TechNotebook.htm Look halfway down in the electrical section. |

If I'm thinking correctly, that's the wire that feeds power to the indicator lamp for the heater lever behind the shifter.

I need to know where the black with blue dots wire goes in the center counsel. It's a wire that's coming up out of the tunnel area. I don't seem to have a place for it to connect to. It has a small female spade connector. pretty sure its the light for the heater control lever on the tunnel. If you have a console it needs a brown wire to ground, if no console the unit/liht grounds itself with the screw that holds it to the tunnel. |

My question is, do these wires have to be connected or can they be just taped off and left alone or do they need to be connected to complete a circuit.

They dont have to be connected. Mine were under the carpet, unattached.
Made adding the console easy. |

I would definitely tape off any bare connectors. Part of this wiring was fried on my car I suspect for this very reason. I had to repair that section. That wire has voltage on it when lights are on.
