After years of struggling with blankets and towels that slide off a nicely waxed finish, I have found an inexpensive solution for rear trunk lid protection during engine servicing. Purchased a "Grill Mat" at the local Aldi grocery store. It is 30" X 48" and is about 1/8" thick rubbery material that is of very nice composition. Adheres nicely to a waxed finish so it does not slide around unless you want it to. Also, tools don't slide off either. Cost- $9.99.
