My mechanic is doing some refurb on my shifter bushings and such. He pulled this out and said "Buddy, find another one, this doesn't look good".
So I need a good looking one of these... Stop Plate ? What's a good one look like? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) thx Gary |

I believe pelican has them NEW also. #901-424-017-00 (the price has jumped over the past few years). Not trying to kill a sale.
Getting 1st/ reverse will be SO cleaner. Yours is a pos. There whole thing pictured is junk. Grinding when simply trying to engage a gear doing who knows how much damage to the trans. Examine the shift handle also. More than likely there is a wear groove cut at the plate contact point which compounds the problem. Sometimes one needs to consider buying a BRAND new part. Used is used. It will must certainly be a one time purchase. Replace the 2 bushings hidden in the shifter assem while you're in there. The plate contact edge should be straight with a slight bevel. |
