The 'reproductions'(?) are still made by Hirschmann. Even though the company has been acquired by another firm, the current antennas are still the same product that they made 40 years ago.

OK ... see the link in post# 3 ... there's plenty of them on ebay - and they look pretty much the same as the original 40 year-old ones to me (except for the box they come in).
Like I said, good luck with the sale (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) EDIT: that particular one sold ... here's the new listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hirschmann-AM-FM-R...8571524?vxp=mtr |

But this is a totally different antenna. As I can see, you do not know much about Hirschmann antennas. Original Hirschmann antennas have always 3 masts. The one you pictured is a 4 mast antenna, and is a chrome antenna with a chrome tip. The Original antenna I offer is a black 3-mast antenna with a black tip. Maybe you don't see or won't see the different. Some people buy cheap repro parts for their classic car, but the real Porsche purist only uses original parts. I have 6 of these original antennas and have already sold 3 of them. Best Regards |

Well good for you.
My '64 911, '66 and '67 912s as well as my '71 and '75 914s all have Hirschmann antennas ... all of them are original ... and chrome (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Like I said, GLWTS |

Euro, I agree with Enoz that there is a market for originals and a market for those who's cars are not appropriate for or needing completely original parts. Yours is apparently the latter. You're clearly showing some cynicism toward Enoz who is just trying to sell a nos product at a market price. He is right....NOS hirschman or Bosch antennas are VERY different than the one you compare them too and DO bring prices he is asking. It's fine that you are not a buyer....go buy a $30 one. But don't derail his thread by slamming him for trying to reach interested buyers for such a product. We get it....you're not a buyer. You're not his audience but at least be respectful of his thread.

I've been in the Porsche game since the early 70's.

I've been in the Porsche game since the early 70's. And you still don't know the difference between what Woody is selling on EBay and original. Maybe give Woody a call and he can fill you in on the differences. I have seen original antennas sell for more than the asking here. Commenting on someone's "for sale" thread about price is bad form, especially with no interest in buying. Maybe start your own thread to complain about prices, like before. |

When newbies show up and their only contribution to the forum is to post high-priced items in the classifieds, I raise an eyebrow and sometimes I post my opinion. I'm sure I'm not the only one who shares the feeling.
You've never added your opinion on someone's F/S thread, Mike? Don't be hypocritical, OK? Case in point: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...p;#entry2501105 Maybe the OP would have better audience with the 356 and 911 crowds, and/or those who would mortgage their homes to restore their cars. Maybe you could buy it and post it for sale for double that next year (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

You might have better success on 911 forums where originality is highly valued. 914 radios were dealer installed in the U.S.
