I'm in Southern Calif (Riverside).I'm having difficulty finding the original 1973 Bahia Red paint. Code L30E. I will be painting the door jambs and outside only.I want to use base coat and clear coat.Does anyone know how much paint and clear to order and where I might purchase it in Orange,San Bernardino or Riverside County

For what it is worth, i just went through a gallon of epoxy primer (two nice coats) body, jambs, both hoods inside and out, doors, rear trunk. Still need more to finish. Thinking gallon and a half of primer on my project. Guessing similar for base coat and clear.

Primer sprays much heavier than paint and clear. A gallon of paint is more than enough to paint a car. Never hurts to ask your supplier about the paint you are using. The good ones know their products.

^ Exactly.

I went through 3 gallons of primer on my car, Paint I went through 3/4 gallon and I sprayed the rear hood 3 times, the undersides of the hoods, the targa top twice and the body in 7 coats of single stage (I planned on wetsanding, as well as having enough material to wet sand it a couple more times down the road).

Note that with paint you reduce it ~ 20%, plus the hardner so 1 gallon of paint makes 1.5gal+ sprayable. A base coat clear coat uses even less physical paint as you throw as many coats on as necessary for complete coverage then throw the clear on that ( as many coats as you want, typically 3 coats for good coverage, but I have seen high end shops do many more so they can wet sand it and still have many coats for protection. .
