I tell you what. I took a 2002 toyota Celica in trade on a motorcycle. Had it for like 10 days & hadn't been to the DMV to change the title. Lady rear ended me at a stop light. Had planned to give it to my son for a graduation present from HS. This was a week before graduation. Lady pushed me into the car in front of me. A toyota truck which I only hit his hitch so didn't do any damage but punch a hole in my front bumper & knock it loose on the sides. My rear end wasn't to bad either. No air bags deployed. Rear bumper would need replaced as would the rear hatch. I knew as soon as I saw it they would total it out. I was nice with State farm & said I don't need the rental at the moment. Knew the appraisal would be quick. Here is where I get screwed. After a week of it being at the shop. They do tell me they consider my car a total loss. Problem is the title is in someone else's name. They can't cut me a check until it is in my name. DMV says 3-6 weeks to get a title. I know this so ask are you giving me a rental while I wait? No your car is drivable so we can't do that. WHAT? You just told me it is a total loss. You expect me to drive it for up to six weeks? Not to mention my car is torn apart at the shop who did the appraisal so they could give an accurate estimate. No we can't approve it because your car is drivable. Although I will be getting $3700 for my car which is more than I have into it. It is still total bullshit. I check with the shop & my car isn't back together last week. State farm calls me today. 3 weeks after the accident during which time my car has been at the shop. I ask the lady on the phone. So I have been without my car for 3 weeks now. Can I get reimbursed for that time. She says no. I say none of this is my fault. I can understand a little the issue with the title. While none of this is my fault. I can live with that to a point. You telling me you won't reimburse me for the time I've been without my car is ridiculous. This was your customer's fault. She says let me check with someone. Puts me on hold. She comes back all nice. Sorry about all this. I got approval to reimburse you for a rental of $16 a day. For the time of the accident until we deemed it a total loss. Which was a week (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) . Wait I haven't had a car for 3 weeks. You called to tell me my car is ready to be picked up today. You know I didn't have a car available that whole 3 weeks. How do you figure you only owe me for a week? She says well do you want the week or not? Thats all I can do. I then ask are you recording this call? She says all calls are recorded. I ask what her name & position is. She tells me. I say I am recording this as well. I will be talking with my lawyer about this & sharing this with him. Does this sound even remotely fair to you? To which she wished me a good day & hung up (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) I think you needed to go through your company and let them collect from the other company. |

I don't quite get why people wait so long to do the title work and why does it take 2-3 weeks? Esp on the seller's end. You're libel. is it like wa? Title agencys are everywhere. You have the signed paper title in hand and you can switch and have the new title the day of sale or next biz day. Were the cops called? Accident reports submitted?

Conundrum solved! They are going to total the Civic out (amount of $ still in Flux), but I will buy it back for $269. I've put the Factory radio back in, taken the wheels off, looking to see if I can use some of the Magnaflow S/S system and I have an eager Buyer ( a Bartender friend) that will give me $1500 for it!
Then I was searching for another Civic (Si) but EVERYTHING is Riced out and I would be in the same situation. Then I found my Next Daily Driver (maybe my last!) 2003 Acura RSX, 1 Owner (Bobby Rahal, IndyCar - Owns a bunch of Honda/Acura Dealership - don't know why he kept a Base Model. Update it was his Mom's car), 11,000 Miles. Buying from a Honda Dealership ( Very Decent Price w/ Warranty (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) ) When I found it, I was scheduled to fly out to the Columbus, OH Good Guys Event next week (HUGE Event- come out & see me if you are local). Guess where the car is? Columbus, OH! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) meet the new Carr daily driver - "New" 2003 RSX |

it's interesting the Base RSX vs the TypeS
the TypeS has 40 more HP, but they both have the Identical Torque! The Type S has a 6 Speed vs a 5 in the Base, but the 5 Speed gets better mileage and the Gear Ratios are pretty cool. The Type S has to run Premium - the base Regular! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) a friend has already offered me a Free Set of Factory ASpec 18" Wheels |

You're really gonna like that car. I've driven a 2006 TSX since new. Bullet proof engine with decent power. Mine is a 2.4 but also a K series. The extra 40HP is VTEC power which usually comes in later, so you won't miss it much. I'd rather have less and not buy premium fuel. Nice buy.

Those are terrific cars and there are tons of suspension parts to tighten them up a bit if you should desire. Very nice car with no miles. Like the A-spec wheels too.

Carr was as described and I arrived back home a few Hours ago without a hitch. Well a guy tried to rob me at a Gas Station at 3am - he's in a Dumpster Now! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
this was behind the Dealership - it was a Sign from the Auto Gods! I haven't been asleep in about 30 Hours. When I got home, before I unloaded the car, I washed, clay barred & waxed my beauty (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

Thanks! It was a quick dive back after working the Good Guys Show (thanks Brian for stopping by!) I hate driving I-75, so I took a little more scenic route thru SE Ohio, then into West Virginia ( Gorgeous Views - WV is a beautiful State), Tunnels thru Mountains, then Virginia and the Blue Ridge Mountains. I was going too fast to stop & take pictures! |
