I've taken enough hints from Pete Stout about my rear bumper being a late chrome and my car being an early 914-6 GT replica. I get it Pete (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Looking to buy or trade for an early 914-6 chrome rear bumper. Mine's pretty much perfect so yours should either be in similar condition or you include some cash... Here's mine. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Pete's (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) aside Rob,
I really don't see why it should matter which bumper on a later MY clone/tribute 914-anything!? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Much ado about nothing IMHO! Either way, it's never going to be a real 914-GT, nor even a real 1970-71 MY 914, & it only takes away from the very limited stock on a short run & hard to source part for those with "real 70-71's" who will need them for their correct restos. There is no place where it would ever possibly be judged for authenticity/originality - since it's not a real early factory 6 (unless I'm misreading your 914s in the sig block) - not in your PCA Zone(s) where originality isn't judged, not at Parade - since it's a clone/tribute, not at any AACA/CCCA, Pebble Beach, Amelia Island nor any of those other non-PCA shows for the same reason - it's just not an original - but a custom resto-mod build, even as nice as it appears to be. Save yourself time, money, effort & headaches, & just tell Pete that he's wrong & that the early rear bumpers need to be preserved for the real early 914s. JMHO!
