Well you know me and computers. My wife has a Gateway Profile running Windows XP home I think.... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) It used to play DVD movies until the hard drive crashed. We changed the hard drive about 4 months ago. I stuck in a DVD tonight and got an error message saying.

Windows media player cannot play the DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer.

Is there just some driver not turned on or what? Do I need some software? Is there any freeware? Can a dummy like me fix this or should I call the kids? There hard to pin down these days.

Lately, when I can't get the club site to load I have to restart the computer.

Have you done a shut down and re-start yet?

Yes but without the DVD in the drive. Should the DVD be in the drive when I do it? If you think that is a real solution I'll try it... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif)

Whenever I hit buttons or tey to start my programs and they don't work, it usually takes a re-start.

I don't know why. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif)

Download a DVD player.
There's a version of ULead's DVD player here.
Or this Artisan one has some pretty good user comments.

I use PowerDVD, but it came with by DVD burner.

No, another WWII aviation buff friend took that picture the same day as the other pics.

If it's old, and in the air, I prolly know about it. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)
