So after all of the testing we have good feed back. The mufflers are quiet as stock and flow a bit better over stock as larger id tubing internally. We still have to tweak the tail pipe locations and may ask for a little assistance with that. I am going to offer 10 of them at 650 for intro pricing and then 900 after that. They will be made 100% of 304 stainless weighs 18lbs, 2.5 dia tail pipe, installation kit will be included, shipping will be extra and to be determined. Please let me know if you have any questions. While looking at muffler options for my little 1.8 I stumbled upon this thread again. My pea brain is struggling with the flow on muffler internals. Can you do a little MS paint since to me it looks like the exhaust would just want to directly exit the tail pipe and that the baffling would do nothing or am I over thinking the tubes and perforations? PS, do you do any consulting if someone wanted to build their own GT'ish /4 muffler with twin outlets? (asking for a friend, hahaha) |

It has to flow through the plate with holes 1st then flows from there Regarding building custom muffler is no problem and maybe I could provide a few parts if you want to do some homework |

Hi Ben,
If I may ask, where do you get your supplies? I'm going to attempt to assemble a similar muffler for my 1911cc with stock HE's. I have some time off from work and want to test my welding skills. There's a muffler shop nearby that will most likely sell me the smaller diameter tubing for the internals. So, I'd be looking for the large diameter pipe, the bulkheads and drilled/slotted pipe. Thanks, Nate btw, I've had your mufflers on a '65 911 and a '74S I used to own. I bought them in '06. I thought they were fantastic. |

I love your quiet muffler and your heat ex-changers. That and my 916 trans, makes my 3.2 conversion feel like a factory built car.

Here is a 2 in 2 out that I built for a customer and went a different direction. 950 Retail 750 shipped in lower 48. I'd just like to comment that this particular custom muffler is incredible. I finally got it installed along with Ben's 1.625" heat exchangers on my 1974 3.2L conversion and I can actually feel the difference. It is a bit loud as Ben had cautioned but the sound is phenomenal and it obviously has a well conceived design and flow. Even the guys at the shop have been raving about it. |
