so this is a 1971 orange factory paint radio etc. targa top. only mod is 3 point seat belt and exhaust.
its been in second owners possession for over 30 years. she has had it stored in her garage has not ran or even tried to start in 15 years. The body is in solid shape no rust we are discussing a price around 2500 but the great thing is she wants me to work it off on my lawn care as I have a lawn care business. What are your thoughts? What should I be concerned about when it comes to getting it road worthy? Dave Attached thumbnail(s) |

It just sits so wrong with me. I mean, basically rip off some older lady that obviously didn't know what she had for a quick $10K (or more depending on what lawn services are supposed to be provided) Hopefully she got that all in writing.
I shouldn't be so quick to judge, but there's a lot of jealous rage built up since I would love and cherish that car. besides, was there any mention of this car even running for $12,900? |

But that is my point, he didn't rip her off. It has sat for a long time covered in crap in a garage. I can bet it is full of mouse crap, doesn't run, brakes need work, tires are shot and the list goes on. For $2500 she got a good deal on 71 that has sat since 93 according to the plate on the back of the car. Now where he is crazy at is thinking it is worth $12.9k. He is fishing, nothing wrong with that, but the reality is anyone that looks at it in person will know it is not worth anything near that. If he gets it running and driving then his time is worth money and he should make some off it. If it were me I would get it to turn over (maybe running?) and market it as a running project car at $5-$6K asking price. I bet he would get many lookers and possible buyers in that range. At $12+ not so much. Again just my 2cents. |
