Here is what I know.

It's been sitting for 3 years... needs tank drained and likely a fuel pump.
Been told the 2.0FI is tired & down on power... could use a rebuild.
Kinda recall something electrical under the dash.
Otherwise car is complete. Ran when parked (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Won't be 80s til Halloween. Last I saw the garage had room to work, it's not too bad in the shade. I managed to survive the summer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer3.gif)

Carl's Place is a great independent repair shop in Las Vegas. Tony is the owner, and the last time I was there April 2015, Vegasracer's black beauty was up on the lift, plus two other 914s. Tony also is the man in charge of Guidin Porsche's restoration center.
I didn't see Toast at Renegade at that time...

I spoke with her about an hour ago ... something to do with the ignition switch and the starter wiring off the top of her head.

If that's the big hangup then I'll try to make a date some weekend soon. I happen to have a lot of recent ignition switch experience (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I'd like to see the car get to RRC. And back.

Good man, Chris. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) Let us know what, when and how. If she needs a fuel pump, I've a spare. God knows Ron gave me more than a few freebies. In fact, post up whatever she needs for that car. I'm not the only one that owes Ron a favor. This is a good opportunity to play it forward. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Kent

First date was productive (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

1) put air in the tires and moved it into the shade.

2) diagnosed a bad wire connection to the starter solenoid. now cranks.

3) got the fuel pump removed. shorted out internally. ordering a new one from RH (job benefit)

3) pushed the car back to it's resting position (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Next date hopefully there will be sparks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Now on to the pictures & wish list (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

Could use some fresh tires 205/60 if you just happen to have extras (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif)

Chris, I recently purchased a good 2-port pump from Chappy ... if that will do the trick, I can pop it in the mail tomorrow

Awesomeness!
Easiest is probably send it to Renegade c/o Toast. I'd have to look up her address... it's the house within biking distance with the yellow 914 in front (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Chris,

Well done!

Does Toast's car need the door stay AND the bracket or just the stay?

Looks like she needs a driver side Euro Turn signal lense also.

Oh and Vegas can get down right cold if you have some shade and a evaporator or mister system. Froze my butt off at a fiends place getting out of the pool, 113 degrees, and I am shivering,

I go away for a few weeks and look what happens. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Wow guys........I don't know what to say! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) Thank you all so very much! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grouphug.gif) I've been sad seeing my 914 everyday just deteriorating out here in the Vegas heat. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN CHRIS!! You have been truely a great person and a great help! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)

I do need a door stop and tires. Those are technicalities and can get those when funds are available.

The fuel pump that went out was part# Bosh 9580810026. 927 (circled) 745.
I know there are a few different types. I had a different fuel pump on the shelf but a port on one end is too big and it is a much bigger pump.

Thank you guys again! SLITS is smiling at ya....for a change. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

Chris said the pic of the pump I sent you looks exactly what he removed from your car, so it should work fine. USPS should have delivered it by now ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Melba, isn't that my old engine that you're running? If it is, it's a 74 2.0 if it makes any difference. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
