what's the best way to clean a metal mesh aircleaner?
just spray it down with brake-cleaner and then wipe it down with oil ??? Attached image(s)

When I had K & N filters similar to that, I washed the filters in K & N cleaning fluid,

I'd say switch to FI, then you'd only have one filter to clean...
(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/flipa.gif) Ayup, get the K&N cleaner and oil... Then wash, dry, oil, repeat. Also, smear a little grease on the top and bottom of those filters so they get good seal on the filter base and lid. Those filters look clean, BTW. K&N's can get pretty dirty and still flow like mad. You could also get some pre-outer filters to help that much more. The Buggy guys use them for sand use. Tom |

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/agree.gif) Clean them with the stuff, let them dry in the sun while you work on something else and then hit them with the filter oil. If they look like the ones in the pic, they are clean. You'll see the filter is more white after you clean, the red color comes from the filter oil.
