I am in the process of installing a factory console and have been following the tech article on Pelican, my problem is where does the top attach, when the console in there seems to be a gap between the bottom of the dash and the console, the console is complete
so what am I missing ?, on a side note do you think I could heat and bend my brake pedal about 1" to the left so I would have more room for my foot ?, is that metal brittle ?

If the gap is a couple of inches you have a console for a car with AC.

Hi,
The brake pedal is usually one of the strongest pieces of metal in any car. Thats why so many anti-theft devices clamp onto the steering wheel and the brake pedal. Heating and bending? I don't know if I would try that on my car. I have a consol I will be installing also. I would rather modify the consol than bend the brake pedal.
Cheers, Elliot

There were two different AC consoles used, one with gauge faces angled and one not.

My console is the one on the right, I have the same brackets, whoever has that console in the picture could you please measure the height. On mine it goes from 11 3/8th down to 7 1/2. I am missing that top bracket that connects to the sides of the console and then I presume to the bottom of the dash. I think I have the right console I am just brain dead on the installation.
Any tips would be appreciated and a free lunch to someone in Seattle that would help in person.
P.S I am a nice guy
Thanks

Yours seems to look right in the picture, however
Kevin says the one on the left in his picture(car with AC) is "about 11". If your's is 11 3/8", I'd say you have the wrong one. Maybe Kevin's taller one is for sale. If so, I have the correct vertical center panel.

I just remeasured, and I was really off, the front is 13 " and tapers down to 10 ", Kevin is this close to your non A/C console.
Does anyone have that bracket that is pictured at the top of this post I am missing that piece.

I think Kevin is at the historic races today. If yours is about 13" you have the right one.

Curt, If you look at the picture of the console on the side up toward the top is a hole, I assume this is where a bolt slides through into a bracket that attaches there and then under the dash, is this correct ?. I thought the bracket in the 2'nd post was that bracket. If it is I need one. I never have looked at an installed console so that is why I sound so brain dead.
