Unless something happens in the next week, I'm taking the 914 to Mount Rushmore. Will anyone else be there?

I spent some time at Ellsworth Air Force Base (Rapid City) back in the sixties and have made the trip up there a few times. If you haven't been there before, I seem to recall driving through a few tunnels and as you drive through you can see the four faces directly in line with the tunnels. I sure don't miss the winters there. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Have a safe trip.

Cheers, Elliot

I went to the Escape to Rushmore a couple of years ago, hoping for less rain and fog this year!

Be sure to take the route through "The Needles", and Spearfish Canyon is nice too.

We will be driving that area on Saturday, drove it at the Escape, but rain and fog made the drive less enjoyable.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) St. Louis to Sioux Falls today, 600+ miles with no problems. First road trip since the car died in Moab, UT after WCR. 360+ miles tomorrow to see the Presidents. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Have a great time Steve, was just there in June. Beautiful area. Loved driving the "Needles" even if it was in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I'm ready to move Hill City, SD! Really nice area.
Enjoy the road trips! Check out Crazy Horse and Wind Cave .
Cheers, Dion
