A friend of my cousin's had a car stolen, thought id pass it on.
This is in Seattle Friends, we need your help. Our house was burgled Sunday evening around 5:30 pm. Not only was everything of value taken from our home, but also my husband's 2005 Carerra S Porsche in seal gray. It is unique in that the wing is painted body color (not the normal black) and there are several custom interior parts you can see just by looking in the window like the red detail on the top of the steering wheel, the aluminum gear shift knob, and all of the leather pieces on the dash that have red stitching. The WA license plate is BBX3261. Please share, even outside of WA, because his car could be anywhere at this point, possibly CA. Dan has worked so hard to buy this car and would LOVE get it back. Thank you, Monika Attached image(s) |

SORRY!!! I'll keep an eye out and tell friends to do the same.
Mark, have you contacted local shops like Chris's, Akers, and Redmond European (Monty)? If not, I'll let them know on Monday. |

The owner should check on container ship departures this past week. Halfway to the canal or a western pacific port by now.

I have no doubt this car was being 'watched'. That there was some inside tip is prob the case too. Can't see a couple of tweekers boosting the car for a gram of meth.

Well, if the authorities collected it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
I think an average citizen can get their own DNA checked for about $100 these days from the commercials I've seen on TV (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) |

The authorities did collect it. So could be used if they catch a suspect, not sure what the internal process is. They warehouse it, or actually do a cross check.
Nothing so far. |

There are a couple databases. The military has DNA profiles on everyone for the last 20 years or so. The also did footprints as even if your blown up, your feet are protected by boots. Some States collect DNA on everyone with felony convictions. The theory being if the committed a felony, they'll do it again. Surely though, you've heard of collected rape kits going untested for years and sometimes being thrown out. It's a budget thing.
I would imagine Interpol has a database as well. I taught a class on DNA ethics so I put some research into it at one time. As for the $100 tests, they aren't really crime evidence accurate. I read recently that one of them had a set of identical twins interpreted differently. I hear the ancestry.com test is pretty good though. |
