what year 911 strut insert will fit into a 914 strut? almost ready to 5 lug conversion.
worded better: what strut insert fits both the 914 strut and ? year 911 suspension? This post has been edited by acox914: Jul 5 2003, 12:15 PM |

911 had konis, boge or bilstein (or ien i am not a gooder spellr. ha) the strut housings are brand specific.
the hydropnematic 911e is yet another story. now that i'm confused.....i don't know? i called koniusa on some 914 koni inserts and the guy said they would fit the 911 strut housings (but with lighter valving.) whatever strut you use will determine what type of insert you can use. are you going to 's' brakes? m's?325's? but alas, stick with the 72 or later, they had better ball joint mounting. peace |

I suggest you call Jason at Paragon. He'll probably give you the best prices on Koni's, anyways.

If you go Boge 911 struts, you can get Koni or Bilstein inserts for them. I have Koni reds in 911 boge struts. Works great.
One thing to note: I believe the inserts for the 911 have different valving, I suspect to make up for the heavier 911. Also, if the strut you get has a different pincher bolt, you'll need the matching ball joint - a nice "gotcha" on a Saturday afternoon. Then you have to get that joint nut off. If it's never been off, it's a chore... |
