For over 1000 EBay sales 99% of the time I use USPS Flat Rate boxes. No issues and tracking is reasonable current and accurate.

I had Fed Ex smash a well packed box which bent the contents. That item was double boxed and had 2 inches of foam rubber between the inner box and outer one . . I insuring it for $2000 . . I filed a claim and was told the breakage was "cause by insufficient sender packing", despite distinct crush marks on the outer carton. . Even after a complaint and a TV Newsroom help hotline intervention , they maintained it would have been prevented if it had been 'better packed' . . . seems that is a common answer by them.

UPS does the same thing, when you make a claim they deny it within 24 hours saying the same thing, "used box". I always keep a receipt for new boxes around and email that, then they usually honor the claim. But think of all the people who just shrug when UPS claims this.
