How do I get the bumpers and license plate looking new again? What product do I use?

The license plates are in good condition, they just look faded and dirty. I want them least shiny and faded. I've looked into sites that offer restoring license plates and they charge way too much to fix plates that are not damaged but need of some sort of polishing.

Thanks!

Aluminum foil and some water. Use it to polish the chrome.

Polishing and waxing plates usually works, sometimes a coat of clear spray brings them back. Remember to mask tags

I've always found Autosol does a good job of cleaning chrome and leaving a wax like protective film. Also does a good job of hiding pinpoint rust and stops it from rusting more. Comes like a tube of toothpaste, each little dab does about a 1/4 of a bumper.

You can't really polish chrome, I'd call it more of a damn good cleaning.

Yes, I’m serious. Used it on my motorcycle pipes. Huge improvement. Google it.

Use Quick glo. That stuff is awesome for chrome. Water and Aluminum foil is a quick fix fix but the rust will resurface again. Quick glo seals it and prevents the rust from resurfacing.

Do the job right the first time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I just read what you wanted to do. Quick glo is good for polishing also (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I also use Meguiars metal polish for motorcycles. That stuff works good too.
