Some of you may remember a rotten orange 914/6 that was on ebay

Attached Image

The car was reposted and I noticed the seller posted more pictures than he/she intended to. I downloaded them all and forgot about them. I just looked through them and came across this

Great work Turbonet! Am I reading 9140430868? I hope someone younger and with better eyes can read that and verify. We need to add that into the data base if not there already once verified.

I see a duck flying through the forest. . .

It is 09 , probably 8 then a rounded bottom ( 0 , 6 , 8 )

A better way is to have legible numbers handy then compare / overlay subtle differences. ( good number on top then bad number on top. ) A 9 has a smaller top circle than a 8 for example.

Also look at attached reversed pic.

it is NOT:
914 043 0960 - Adriatic Blue
914 043 0961 - Silver
914 043 0967 - Ivory
914 043 0968 - Silver

I think we can rule out:
914 043 0962
914 043 0964
914 043 0969

so that leaves:
914 043 0963
914 043 0965
914 043 0966

Just have Harrison Ford tell the computer to raster and enhance. It will be like a neon sign then.

Doesn't look like a 3,5 or 6 to me. Looks more like 0. Maybe a 6

so that leaves:
914 043 0963
914 043 0965
914 043 0966

The lower circle looks too complete to be a 3 or a 5, and seems most like the preceding 6. I’m leaning toward 0966.

Nice job. Was pissing me off that someone is going to VIN swap this car to another shell. Makes this much more difficult to do now even without all the numbers.

@Gustl and all the other analysts here. Yes, I agree to the 0966. For me it also looks extremly like a "6" at the end of the VIN.

BTW: are there any other interesting pictures you can share? I did not find the new ebay ad.

Color looks like Signal Orange, could call PCNA give them the 0966 number and see what they say for color.

I'll look. I actually had to go into windows temp files to get this one. I remembered I'd seen it but didn't really pay attention at the time.

The seller relisted the ad for some reason and accidentally included this as one of the pictures but only for a short time. They were deleted shortly after the realist but because I'd viewed them I was able to pull the pictures out of my temp files.

Not even sure why I did that.

Auction ended a while ago but can still be viewed in completed listings.
