I'm going to fall into the "Love it" camp. It's like a 911 with the engine in the correct place. Gorgeous.

That is an awesome car! I'm glad Porsche found it in their hearts to make a true 2 seater hardtop again. I think this is a first 2 seat hardtop since my favorite car the 904...right? Not counting some GT model cars that just had rear seats deleted.
I just wonder if they are going to have to make it uglier to assure it doesnt take huge market share away from the 997. It is a beautifully styled car in my opinion. And it will make an incredible looking race car. And that luggage space in the rear is too cool! |

Looking at those pictures the name somehow fits now. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif)
Everything actually looks natural, like the headlights (first headlights I've liked since the 993). It attracts me in odd ways. Less girly than the Boxster (like the Z4 BMW compared to the Z3) But I still hold that they should have kept the trend of creating original names for original cars. Or numbers. |

I didn't like it at first...but it is growing on me. I've given up thinking that they are going to go backwards. This is it people...like it or not. Porsche is a different company than it was. That's the nature of things...you can't stop it. I won't be BUYING one, but I'll admire one when I see it. |

ein6er > your photoshop'd poster hits it on the nailhead , but you'll NEVER see Porsche marketing reflect on the 914, Verboten !
I guess we now know where Porsche will take us once their 999 number is reached--2 silly- ble names. Even GM got stuck in a name-rut with silly Euro names: Monte Carlo, Camaro , Caprice, Bel Air, DeVille, Biarritz, El Camino, Parisienne , Cavalier, Corsa, Monza, El Dorado. Dude, who at the factory is in charge of naming cars anyway ? Edsel Ford put his name on a car cause he could. Just hope that the guy that penned/ named the Pontiac Aztec never works for Porsche (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) |
