(IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) Chris That valance had caught my eye (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) when you originally posted it. I searched everywhere I could to find the manufacturer but found nothing. Good luck on your bidding! Maybe the replica of this nice piece will be available to our community in the future! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Please keep us posted of the outcome. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

I've not yet heard back from the seller re: my offer. Sounds like there are others who'd want one so if my offer is rejected, maybe I just go all in on the Buy it Now price and make/sell a few to recoup some costs. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) Like I don't have enough going on already... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) EDIT: I love how things work! Literally as soon as I hit "Add This" for my above post, I got an email that my offer was accepted! BIG thanks to @Montreal914 for spotting the auction! Be nice to me and maybe I'll pull a mold and make these available. |

@Montreal914 - Thanks again for alerting me to the ebay auction. I owe you!
The valance arrived today and a quick "hold it in place" test suggests it's a REALLY nice fit everywhere, even at the flares. It looks to be a very nice piece with no work needed before installing. Rare in the world of 914 fiberglass parts! I'll get it mounted in a day or so and post some pics. @Van B I figured you'd want to know, too. |

Stoked for you man! I love those rare finds!
I really do hope it’s practical for you to tweak the mold to make some “unflared” versions for the 4 cylinder cars! I know it’s work, but if it looks as good as I think it will, I bet there’s legit profit in the endeavor. Van |

Take and post more pictures of the valance prior to installation too in various angles.
Happy this worked out for you! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) I am trying to establish what I will use for valance with a cooler opening. I like my LE replica and I have been studying what others have done Googling everywhere. That is how I actually ran into the eBay add. I immediately recognized it and dug up your thread. Another nice candidate is the one from PMS, especially with the flush mounted grill, but he doesn't offer it for non-flared cars. I know he's obviously not the one glassing it, but I know it's proprietary. Fun stuff! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

I am 100% in for one if they're reproduced. My car has been naked in the front for the past 6 years because nobody makes a flared front valance except for the GT one.

Crappy MS Paint skills aside, here's what I'm planning for my H2O build.

An appropriate name for this valence would be the LE GT or GT LE

Very nice integration of the larger needed opening Tygaboy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Although both valances discussed here are somewhat based on the LE design concept, they both share a important change in the shape. The fact that the lower line is continuous adds surface to the front allowing to create the opening on the upper part and keep a nice balance in the overall appearance. LE valance on a faded paint car (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Tygaboy's new valance (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) PMS' seems to be very tight with the bumper and I suspect that, unlike the standard or LE valance, it is also attached to the lower edge of the front bumper. I believe we can see holes on the upper fold in this picture. Minimizing that gap and having that grill flush really blends the hole front, maybe something to keep in mind...
