Question.....was the interior center tray w/hinged arm rest an option for the '74 2.0L model year? Was it part of the 473544 comfort equipment / appearance package option?

Jeff,
It was both part of the Appearance Group & a stand alone option. Since most 73 2Ls early on had Appearance Group, that was less single option. By 74 they'd decoupled the "included" options, so it was either or, & you need to check the window sticker &/or COA. Same for 75 & 76 MYs. See my thread on the "914-S " in the O&H forum, &there are pix of ads for both the 73 "914-S " & 74 914-2.0 which IIRC lists the options, including the center armrest/cushion storage. I don't know where your option list above is from, but it seems incomplete on that & a couple of other items. Jeff Bowls by's website may have some Porsche dox from back then. Cheers!
