It uses a Hewland tranny. It is based on a VW case with Hewland guts. Very nice tranny for the money.

Anybody figure out what that bar is going right across the drivers forehead? Looks like the owner or builder didn't have the nuts to run without a high front hoop.

I dunno,
I sort of like the phone dials on that car. Gives it kind of a "modern-classic" look. I'd love to build one of these like I would a hot 914. You know, 911 susp. & brakes, A six with throttle body injection. Classic beauty with fierce acceleration. Not sure what to say about that forehead bar in the racer though.
