Welp, I did what everyone told me not to do, take the spring cover off of the retractable seat belt mechanism after it was removed from the car.

Boing !!!!! Just like in the movies when the guy removes the lid from a can and spring a loaded snake comes tearing out to scare the bjesus out of em'

"Holy Smokes........what have I done"?

The mechanisms on both side were locked up tight as in wouldn't move, making them useless. What did I have to lose?

After countless mind numbing hours I finally figured out how to get the spring back in after cleaning and oiling the bits. Now both work like new........at least for now.

It can be done with patience. But, if you have a short fuse in your makeup, don't remove the spring cover.
