Welcome back chief!!! I'll bet you are a busy man. I'm wondering if you've got time for that box of mine laying around. The next GGR AX is Sat the 12th, then again Sun the 20th (LPR). I've got the car loaded up on the trailer if you can sqeeze it.

Thanks! and welcome back!

Rob,

we may have to install this box and have you run it until I have more time to drop the engine for the oil leak issue. Right now I'm crunched to get 2 cars out before the 15th (not including yours)

I can install the tranny tonight at your place if you have CV gaskets... I have a few.

Sounds good. I found that the majority of oil is actually coming from the tranny. Later on the engine oil leak is OK since I've got a list of things I'd like done too. The tranny will get me there for now.
I don't have the CV gaskets, but I used new ones 4500 mi ago, and can swap them out next week.

Let me know what's possible.

Thanks chief!!!

PS- I met Scott who has the 75 + 76 914s here in the hood. If you stop by I can take you by his place. He's done some amazing things with his 76 and it would be a blast to put it all together. To give you an idea... he powder coated his plenum!!!!!

Ok. How bad do you want to run this AutoX ?? I can shoot over Friday night and install this box and load the trailer with you. OR (options)I will be down Thursday night for a meeting and can remove the current one and install this one. The meeting is in Sunnyvale and will only last a few hours (5-7pm)

I have some free help also (My friend Britain)

I need for you to pick up some SWEPCO from HPH or whomever you like.

You are a generous man!!!

I'll go by HPH tomorrow and get the goods (Swepco, CV joints, exhaust gaskets...)

Thursday's good. How much time do think it'll run? I can put the car up on blocks in my garage.

I've got a buddy running on Sat with me, but you know I've never seen you AX..... you're more than welcome to throw my wheels around.

If its too much though, what's the worst I can do with a bad leaky tranny at an AX with a trailer???

Thanks chief I owe you yet again....

I gave up going to Thill this weekend with POC to get work done on a customers car Sat. He threatened to sue me if he didnt have the car back by July15th (I have had it since Jan.) Its a total custom V8 conversion with 930 box (read: pain in the ass) so... NO AutoX or road racing for me.. must get these cars out/done.

Plan on seeing me Thursday night.

Go ahead and get the car up in the air... also check to see what bolts you have in the CV's.. I'll bring the proper socket after you tell me what you have. Do you have a torque wrench ??

Hows the muffler bolts ??

Hows the clutch cable ??

COOL

I've got the sockets and will pull them off. I have a torque wrench I use for lug nuts (Sears especiale).

I could use some muffler bolts since I replaced them with std metric bolts. I'll get that at HPH unless you tell me otherwise.

The clutch cable has not been changed but I have an extra new one.

The only thing I need to hustle on is swapping out the shift linkage. The shifter I have upfront is missing a return spring peg clamp (?). I've got a full set of sideshift linkage to replace it with. The bushings are new (4500 mi) as well.

What do you guys want for dinner???

You need to order a Rennshift from James... dont hustle on the linkage. Its easier to do when the tranny is out.

Dont worry about dinner... I never said I was doing this for free...LOL I'm trying to drop 15lbs...soo food is low on the priority list. I found it difficult to jump the wall at Daytona with the fuel lines at 210lbs and 100 degree heat. Need to get back down to 195.

haha, after seeing Terry's pictures from Mid-Ohio, I'm trying to lose 2x 15 lbs. I'm up to 210 also and I'm a couple inches shorter than you are. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I gave myself 5 months at 6 lbs a month. = 30 pounds.
wish me luck.

Got the Swepco, gaskets, and bolts from Rich today.

The wife has plans with a friend on Sun so I'm clear to drive up to help out with whatever you need.

Thanks again, R
