I have 73 1.7 w/ the 1.8 big bore kit that I have put dual 34 carbs on and have changed the dist. to a 009. I'm not sure where to set the timing.

27 degrees at 3000 rpm.....doesn't change.

Actually, you can go to 30 degrees total advance. 32 MIGHT be OK, but you need to be REAL careful you don't get pinging.
This means you'll be at between 13 and 15 degrees BTDC at idle, because the less-than-desirable POS 009 has only about 17 degrees total advance. The Cap'n |
