A few days ago my friend's 2L 914 had all the seals in the engine replaced because it was leaking. Now it makes a kind of a sputter sound when reved over 1000 rpms and doesn't accelerate very quickly. It still has the original fuel injection. Any advice greatly appreciated.

What seals were replaced? If you did a pushrod seal job, I'd re-check the valves...

Whatever work you did perform before this change would be the first thing to check to find a possible problem, obviously.

Thanks for the replies, I'll see if he wants to work on it later today. I have a digital camera.

Update: He's going to talk with th shop that put in new seals.... I'll tell you how it goes.
