I recently purchased a bundle of 914 parts that were off of an abandoned project from several years ago. One of the parts is a Leistritz brand muffler and appears to be NOS. It still has some of the part labels attached. Does anyone know if this was an OE muffler or an aftermarket part? The stamping on the housing shows that it was made in W. Germany.

Thanks for all of the great info! One of my projects is a 73 2.0, which is one reason I bought the Leistritz, but I'm not sure if I'll use it on that car or not. I'd have to think about it selling it though. Doesn't seem like there a many of these around anymore and I might not find another one.
