When I bought this radio on eBay USA a couple of years back, I was told it was a dealer installed radio, correct for the 914. I planed to install it on my 1974 1.8 but sold the car before I did it.
I'm not sure if everything is working because I have no speakers to test it - but the scale light goes on when I turn it on (see pictures). Correct 914 faceplates for early and late dashboard are included (see pictures) asking USD 85.00 per PayPal - including shipping to USA |

I think that's the only kind of radio I'd want to put in my car, unless it was completely hidden. The others look instantly out of place. Would also be OK if it said VW or Motorola.
