I am having my car painted and will need my bumpers redone at some point. Given the price of replating I was wondering if chromed bumpers can be painted? Can chromed bumpers be painted? Do you need to do any special preparation?
Thanks |

Chrome bumpers can be scuffed, primed and painted... but why?
Save them. Someone here has a set of painted bumpers available, I'm sure. -Rusty (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smoke.gif) |

If you want painted bumpers, go buy a set of black ones and then paint them. I would have the bumpers rechromed and then sell them, They go for mega bucks if they are straight and clean. Just my opinion. Especially early ones.
