Looking for some jetting advice on my Dual 40mm Dellortos

My engine is:
1.7 liter case align bored & galley plugs threaded and sealed
Pistons: Forged 94mm Balanced.
Crankshaft: 71mm refinished and Balanced.
Camshaft: #86 Grind. .423 Lift, 270 Duration.
Heads Rebuilt with 44mm x 38mm valves (vs. Stock is 39mm x 33mm )
High Carbon steel pushrods.
Lightened Flywheel

I appreciate any input you guys might have. I suspect these are currently jetted for an Alpha Romeo as I got them from a guy in Italy.

Sounds to me like you built a beefy 2 liter with some good reliable parts. My advice, since you got the best carbs for the car, contact CB Performance tomorrow on the phone, Ask for Marieann, she will be able to tell you exactly what you need for your engine. tell her everything you posted here. They will most likely have everything you need there too. Know what you have when you call, pull the correction tubes and jets out and know the numbers as she will ask you. She knows her stuff and is more than happy to assist you. The dells are the best carb for our motors, you wont be dissapointed. They outflow the Webers anyday and you wont have to adjust them all the time like the Webers.

Here is Jake's advice on another thread. He mentioned a 2.0 or little bigger engine with stock components. I wonder how much my cam and larger valves might effect these suggestions?

QUOTE
With a set ofDellorto 40 DRLA
Try a 34mm Vent (stock)
140 main
60 idle
.2 emulsion
35 pump squirter
mixture control @ 1 turn from bottom, trimmed to smooth it out.

Sorry Matt, I have those crazy Weber carbs.

I'd check with CB performance, but plan a buying several sizes of idles and mains.

Hi
I am running 36 Dells, I screwed with the jets forever.
I spoke with GPR and they gave me a setup (I think it was Dave ), that was 10 years ago and going strong. My motor 2.0 sounds like yours. Great choice of carrbs.
If you don't find what you need, I can bang out a few jets
to check on the sizes, if your not in a hurry.

Later
Joe

Jake's advice is pretty damn close to what I run. My pump jets are a little smaller, but I'd change to the bigger ones if I had them.

180 main air
34mm vent (mine actually measure more like 33mm)
60 idle
140 main gas
30 pump jets

When it doesn't have foreign material in the idle circuit (grass) it runs pretty decent. I had socks over the velocity stacks and didn't have anything protecting the idle air and main air jets.

USE GOOD FILTERS!!!!

I have a 1911cc engine with the same cam as yours. I'm running 45 dells. Over kill, but it runs and idles great.
38 mm vents
180 airs
160 mains
70 idles
55 pump
