I have the pictured radio which was in my car when i bought it. I've not tested it yet but as it has no stickers or part / serial numbers i cannot get more info.
I believe (my electrical knowledge is pretty basic) it is a stereo unit and as there is a din plug on the rear i'm hoping to be able to run external inputs through it. If you look above the din socket there is a small connector hidden inside a round recess, what is this for? All help advice (apart from unhelpful/sarcastic) appreciated. |

It is a mono radio. If it were stereo, it would have the word "stereo" on the dial face.
The female plug on the right is probably for an amplifier which is not needed. And of course the hole on the left is for the antenna. The other opening you mention just above the female connection I believe is for the speaker connection. The lug terminal on the upper right would be the power connection and the one in the left would be the ground connection. |

the factory brochure for early 74 which was obviously made before the cars introduction for the 74 year model, pictures the exact same frankfurt as shown in this opening post. That is correct for 73 up to early 74. In later 74 and then in subsequent cars, the blaupunkt with the rectangular black face was installed. Please this post is ONLY about the blaupunkt frankfurt radio that was installed in 914s.
