I pulled the original Blaupunkt AM/FM radio (model 2072) out of my 74 today. It still has original faceplate etc and it works great. Are original 914 radios worth anything or should i just chuck it into my parts box?

I wouldnt chuck it into a parts box but i would carefully stick it with saved parts and put it up in the rafters cause someday, someone will need one for a concourse car restore. Most people today want the more modern CD players and stuff.

this has been debated before and it seems like that some cars, at least for the european market, actually left the factory with a radio installed ...

What are you mad at?

Miles was a very common name for young nubile lot boys at the West Hollywood VW/Porsche/Audi dealer....

I sold mine out of a '72 to a guy who restores them. It actually had "Volkwagen" on it. The vintage Benz and VW guys like them. If you are selling it I can give you the contact info.

It never had AM/FM buttons. If you look in the middle of the tuner there is a little box that shows AM/FM and its changed by a little chrome ring. I'd say its concours material. ..and for a radio that was supposed to be intstalled in the US it sure has a lot of german print on the back.
