Nice looking driver quality '74 2.0L for sale on BAT.....very strong money at $15K in the first day of the auction. Should be interesting to see where the auction ends up (7) days from now.

I'm very surprised at the bidding so far.....almost $20K! This a great looking car but there's numberous little issues and details that should be addressed. Here are several that I see.....

Front lower valance installed incorrect
Rear bumper guards twisted
Incorrect wheels
Incorrect spare wheel
Incorrect muffler
Front Porsche badge incorrect
Missing tool kit
Rear trunk foam pad missing
Rear trunk rubber targa roof supports broken
Rear trunk plastic targa roof supports should be bolted....not pop riveted
Rear trunk lid roller guide missing on drivers side
Rear engine lid Porsche lettering should be silver....not gold color
Rear engine lid rain tray plastic alignment spacers missing
Rear trunk plastic floor plugs missing
Rear targa top pad cracked
Engine compartment....several vacuum hoses & heater hose incorrect
Engine compartment electrical plastic relay cover broken
Incorrect battery size
Front trunk gas cap incorrect
Front bumper top pad distorted fit on drivers side
Drivers seat adjuster hoop missing (broken off)
Drivers side parking brake lever sits too low
Dash cracked
Incorrect steering wheel....should be leatherette wrapped
Incorrect radio
Center console cracked at cushion pad
Drivers door arm rest lid twisted
Drivers door rubber end cap missing
Drivers door hinge broken
Passenger door panel arm rest lower panel incorrect

Big difference it is not for sale here!

I am going to say the pop rivets are correct in the rear truck for targa top. I know some were riveted and some were bolts but I don't see someone replacing bolts with rivets.

Yeah, not that it ever really stops someone from commenting on for sale ads. Regardless, it wasn't posted by the owner and is not for sale here on the world.

I agree with everyone here that it's a nice 914 and has a lot going for it.....'74 FI 2.0L, matching numbers, color combo, appearance package, no rust, etc. Sorry to be an anal nit-picker with the details....most of these items can easily be corrected if the next owner elects to. I hope the owner gets the most $$$ for it......GLWS.

......I have to call my insurance company now and increase the value of my '74 2.0L.

Hey, I looked at the $200K blue GT and thought - It has a late side mirror - what's wrong with me.

As a 1974 Model 473544, steel wheels would be factory build correct, but I would not say that the fake fuchs or even the muffler are "incorrect", just not factory parts.

Condition, more than most other factors is a major value indicator and this example is quite good and will clean up nicely.

The rare interior color, and body color are great - but don't like them in combo - I think it affects value.
What about the two tone door panels - never saw that on a 914.
Of course there is the fire hazard of the incorrect fuses in the fusepanel.
The major distraction for me is the large stain on the front trunk board. Clean or replace it for the big money deal.

My '74 also came with those same two tone door panels and brown interior.

The PO painted it red, but I always thought the brown interior would have looked odd with it's original signal orange exterior (it still looked odd with the red).

as much as I like red 914's, I wish they had kept mine orange. The orange and brown color combo is very 70's. Mine also had two tone doors.
I'll probably pull the interior and sell it to someone who wants to take their four or six back to stock. It's a 38K mile car and even though it has a bad hell hole, the interior is pristine. It's a '71 so it would work for either car.

If you go to bring a trailer all of the deficiencies are in the comments below. I know when they bought the car and what was paid for it. Tidy profit.
