If you downloaded the zip file, it should contain a file called cd050303.iso Extract this file to the PC that you are using. Then, start up your CD burning software. You should see an option that says something like "Create CD from CD image". Choose that then point to the cd050303.iso file. This should create the bootable CD. If you need the unzipped ISO image, post here and I'll put it on one of my websites for you. |

What software are you using to burn the cd? Nero, Roxio? You have to burn the cd a special way, as an image. The software will then make the disk bootable. Let me know what software you have and I'll tell you how to burn it. You're only out a cd at this point. Don't sweat it. |

You may be able to restore from a prior day. Go into the start menu and then accessories and then system tools and then system restore. it lets you pick a day prior to the problem and restore your system.
This may work for you. Otherwise you may have to go into the registries and manually reset. Ask the hotel if their system sets up an account for you when you use your computer at their place. That may be ast.net Here is the info on ast.net ast.net = [ 66.116.109.35 ] Moniker.Com Whois Server Version 2.0 Domain Name: AST.NET Registrant [NIC-23658]: Moniker Privacy Services Role support@moniker.com Moniker Privacy Services 20 SW 27 Ave Suite 201 Pompano Beach FL US 33069 Administrative Contact [NIC-23658]: Moniker Privacy Services Role support@moniker.com Moniker Privacy Services 20 SW 27 Ave Suite 201 Pompano Beach FL US 33069 Phone: 1.9549848445 Fax: 1.9549691647 Billing Contact [NIC-23658]: Moniker Privacy Services Role support@moniker.com Moniker Privacy Services 20 SW 27 Ave Suite 201 Pompano Beach FL US 33069 Phone: 1.9549848445 Fax: 1.9549691647 Technical Contact [NIC-23658]: Moniker Privacy Services Role support@moniker.com Moniker Privacy Services 20 SW 27 Ave Suite 201 Pompano Beach FL US 33069 Phone: 1.9549848445 Fax: 1.9549691647 Domain servers in listed order: NS1.ULTSEARCH.COM NS2.ULTSEARCH.COM Record created on: 1999-11-23 07: 21: 00.0 Change all your passwords for every account you use email to what ever if the ast.net is not something that the hotel uses. |

Here is the way to burn an iso in Nero
1. Start Nero 2. Choose the menu command "File"->"Burn Image" 3. An "Open" file dialog box appears with the following image types supported (*.nrg, *.iso, *.cue) 4. Select your download LinuxISO file and click Open 5. The "Write CD" dialog box appears with several tabs (Info, Foreign image, Misc, Burn). 6. Click the 'Burn' Tab 7. Confirm that 'Write' and 'Finalize' are selected 8. Click on "Write". Watch it burn. |

it is asp.net
still is requiring a password, as are all other logins.... just burned the image from paul (thanks for posting for me) no luck.... did not boot from cd even though have that as 1st boot drive. burned the image as indicated on nero. not recognized as a std program by the nero system. foreign image is noted. burn to cd was easy but when booted on my laptop goes straight to hard drive boot. for what it is worth, there is not a + mark by the cd drive on the boot sequence. does this indicate that this is not a bootable drive? maybe it is time to get a new/faster hard drive for the laptop, put the old drive in an external case and extract information using it as a slave drive rather than primary. even tried booting in last known good config and still got the need for pass words. repeat after me "never use public wireless... never use public wireless...." or maybe, the BFH approach is needed..... I scanned over this, and may have missed it, but is the CMOS set to check CD for boot before others?
I always set CMOS to skip to Dev:0 (c:). M |

maybe it is time to take this piece of feces to the local rent-a-geek and have him do his voodoo on it.
hopefully it is a problem that can be remedied by throwing money at it... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/huh.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/huh.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/huh.gif) |

I believe (may be wrong) that even with a cd in the cd drive, and set as first boot device, its still optional in some bios. Restart it again, and as it just starts to power up, tap on the space bar or some letter key, and just keep doing it. Sometimes you have to still tell it you want to boot to cd, otherwise it will bypass it and go on to the second boot device. Worth a try.
Also, just to check that cd... Do you have another pc that you can put it in and look and see the contents of it? You should have SEVERAL files and directories. If you only see one file, then it didn't burn correctly. Post back if you aren't sick of it yet. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) |
