I could use a set of mats.... never tried coco mats. Do you have a set sitting on the shelf that you haven't been using?
My budget is more in the "used" range, so putting the request out there. Considering I will be putting my dirty shoes on them, maybe used is OK?? I know that I have a lot in storage that I never get around to using..... let me know if you have a set. Curious to see what you might have (color combo, etc.) Cheers! Hey Buddy,
Just a caution not to wear dress or other polished shoes with coco mats (nor Sisal) cuz they'll wear off the finish/color on the heels & sides in short order by rubbing on the mats. Back in the day when my 914 was my DD, I had to take off my dress shoes for work in order to not show up to a biz meeting with scuffed up shoes - NOT a good impression! The ones with rubber heel pads help, but shoes can still get scuffed heels & sides if you rest your feet in the other areas. If you don't find a set of used or NOS ones cheap, then you might sign up for cocomats.com & the various other coco/sisal mat makers' email lists for sales. Another option which is much more comfortable for both shoes & barefootin' are the plush carpet mats from Lloyd & others - which also may be some available used/NOS from members, or do the emails sale thing from SMC, AA, etc. when they have sales on them. ... or Berber like Mike's set, or loop pile - but neither is as cushy as plush - but it's what you want for your footies. Good Luck! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Tom /////// |

Stretch your budget and get the cocomats.....you won't regret it. Cal - That looks great! What color combo is that? Black with white specs??? Or some off-white? Hmmm..... now that I have seen yours, I may have to pull the trigger. My car is silver so I went with the black and grey mats......IMO, a black car would look great with black and white or black and grey cocomats. Here's a photo of black and red cocomats in a black 2.0L. Attached thumbnail(s) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif) Please keep in mind that there are two different lengths that can be ordered for the passenger side.....standard length and the long version. The photo of my black and grey mats and the black and red mats are both the standard length. The long version goes way up the entire foot well height. This photo shows the long version. They came with my 74. Maybe because they were vintage, but I hated them and tossed them out right off. The colored strands were always flaking off and getting everywhere. What's the upside of floor mates that make your floors dirty?

I thought the longer version was for the early cars with the stationary passenger seat and foot stool.

Our black domestic carpets are $84 a set without the rubber back and no heel pad ($5 more). I would recommend the extra $5 for the rubber backing as it holds the pads in place. Note the Lyod mats have the holes to secure the mats. They are useless if you have the carpet in as the carpet is secured there and you can't get both on.
