Got the cigarette lighter out, but how do the other switches come off? Unscrew the pull and then somehow remove the plate that is external OR does the switch pull out towards the interior?

I should know this from the 911 and 928 but...

The switches pull out the back but you need a special wrench to unscrew the front clamp ring. Or use a larger coin to fit in the two grooves.

I have used a pair of needle-nose pliers in the holes, or in the slot across the center of the "escutcheon" (which is what the manual calls that flat nut). Once the escutcheon is loose, you can spin it off with your fingers, and then the switch body comes out toward the inside of the dash.

It helps to 'rock' and the switch from behind to break the escutcheon loose
on the front.
