Do the Boxster calipers fit factory Fuchs wheels. And do they need to be 16 in wheels.

I am putting Boxster Calipers on my V8 car and I want to know that the 16 Fuchs factory wheels in 16 inches will fit with 7 inch (911) and 8 inch( 951) wheels, Or 8 in (911)

Thanks as always for the help.

Yes they do. I'm running 7 & 8 16's with the boxster non-s calipers. I used Rich Johnsons mounting kit, which is quality and well engineered.

What is this 'mounting kit' you speak of? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

For anyone running 15" wheels you can go with Wilwood Calipers... Also there are a couple tricks to installing these, I can inform anyone interested.

You need adaptors to fit 3 1/2 struts. Rebel Racing has f & r adaptors and Stompski racing has them for the front.

I run Boxster calipers on all 4 corners under 15x7 Cookie Cutter wheels using the RJ adapters to mount them.

No problems at all so i don't see why they wouldn't fit under 16" Fuchs wheels ...

I emailed Rich,

Got back to me fast.

Bob B

Hi Robert,

Any Porsche 15 or 16" alloy wheel, 7" or wider will fit over the boxster caliper. My guess is the guy bought the "cost effective" cast Fuchs copies which have a completely different ID.

You're golden and the best of luck with the project!

I'm interested in the tricks to install.
Which Wilwoods? Piston sizes? What calipers are you running on the rear? Master cylinder diameter?
Thanks,
Andys

In the last 2 years, there has been a huge increase on what people are selling Factory Fuchs in 16In.

15in are much less.

I'll be home all weekend doing something in the garage (off on Monday as well)

My twins asked about you a few weekends ago at EASY.. "is your German friend with the torn shirts going to be here?" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

You will need a 1/8"npt x 10mm bubble flare adapter for the brakes lines (available at dune buggy shops or amazon). The mounting holes need to be drilled out from 7/16" to 15/32" (12mm).

I bought the superlites, but if you really want dust seals get the dynapro. Buy the version with the 3.5" mounting holes, they mount on later 911 3.5" struts (same struts the boxster calipers fit). If you have 20mm rotors buy the ones for .810" rotors. 24mm rotors you can get the 1.25" version, technically though that rotor is a little small for it, so I preferred the 20mm route. I am amazed at how the offsets are correct, fitting the rotors perfectly, no pad overhang or anything.

I have the 1.25" Bore (4 piston), similar overall area to the early 911 46mm M-caliper. The rears are 42mm rear 911 M calipers. I run a 19mm master cylinder. I expect it to brake much better with porterfield RS4 pads on all 4 corners, but I am waiting on some parts at the moment to complete this swap. I didn't want to go too big on the piston and upset the bias and have to convert to a 23mm master cylinder.

Not any reason why you can't buy the dynalites either at $130 ea from summit. Btw, you can buy them in many piston sizes.

What are you going to do for emergency brake?

The PO install a 911 drum style emergency brake. I'm only replacing the front calipers with wilwood.

14.5" on my factory 911 fuch 15x7 wheels.

Thanks for the info. If Boxster brakes will fit a 15" Fuchs with 14.5" ID, then they should fit the Euromeister 16" wheel. My 16X7s and 8s have ~ 15.5" ID, though if the caliper is located inside the wheel too far, it may interfere with the wheel ID as it ramps down to a smaller ID beginning ~ 2.5" from the inside lip.

From what I’ve read on pelican, a lot of repro Fuchs don’t fit due to different inner dimensions than real Fuchs. The cast wheels require more material for the same strength and interfere with the larger calipers.

I just sold a pair of Euromeisters in the classifieds because they didn't fit on the inside. The caliper rubbed and would have required a spacer. This was on the rear with Boxster non-S calipers. I have Boxster calipers on both front and rear. I thought about a small spacer but with a narrow body the offset would have brought the tire even further out towards the fender and would have never fit.
