Hi,

So I have now spent about 20 plus hours fully restoring all the wiring connections that the PO had messed with over the years under the dash. As others have said, once you understand the wiring diagram, its not that bad.

But I have one remaining wire thats been cut. I traced it from near the fuse box to a connector on the steering wheel column. Its red (the larger of the red wires) and connects to the pin that I have indicated with the my gauge. Any idea whats this for?

I am going to say ignition switch
large gauge wires and the yellows goes to the starter

Gentlemen, In answer to the OP's question the schematic indicates that circuit connects from the ignition switch (the 6 sided housing shown) to the headlight switch.
